Barkman Dental Studio began in 2020 with the goal of providing the highest quality of dental care while building patients' trust. We are committed to achieving treatment goals from routine maintenance to complete renewal of your smile while engaging you in the process. Barkman Dental Studio believes in building relationships based on honesty and transparency.
Members of our professional team continually update and expand their knowledge of current dental procedures and technology to ensure optimal care.
Dr.Barkman believes in providing one on one attention while you are in the office, with minimal distraction and appropriate length of time booked for your procedure. You are not double booked as we are dedicated to your time in the chair.

Meet The Team
DMD
Dr Barkman
Born and raised in central BC, Sheldon pursued post secondary education leading him to study dentistry at University of Saskatchewan. After graduating from U of S Dentistry, he began raising a family and started his practice career. After many memorable years in Saskatoon, the decision was made to return to BC to be close to family and enjoy the outdoor lifestyle of the Okanagan.
Dr.Barkman enjoys an active lifestyle pursuing activities with his family. Spending time outdoors with his wife and three kids snowboarding, mountain biking and hiking.
Certified Dental Assistant
Juana Gaab
Juana graduated from Okanagan College as a Certified Dental Assistant in 2020 and began working for Barkman Dental since 2021. She enjoys working at an office where everyone works as a team to put the patients needs first.
Hygenist
Lori Brown
Lori has been in the dental field for over 39 years. She was a dental assistant in both general practice dentistry and orthodontics in Alberta before going back to school and graduating as a dental hygienist in 2010.
She loves getting to know her patients and partnering with them to keep their teeth for a lifetime.
She has two grown children and when she’s not at work, she’s kept busy working on her house and yard.

Jen Phelan
Jen was raised in the beautiful little town of Armstrong where she currently resides with her husband and 2 daughters.
She has over 20 years experience in the dental industry and brings her skills in clinical dentistry and dental administration to the practice.
Her knowledge and cheerful personality will ensure your visit at Barkman Dental Studio is welcoming and pleasant.
She enjoys spending the sunny okanagan summers camping and at her family cabin on Okanagan Lake.
